About the CBGNA

The ABCGN certification examination is a four-hour written test consisting of 175 multiple choice questions,150 items are scored and 25 are experimental items used for future exams. The exam is based on a survey of practitioners which define the scope of practice, knowledge and skills required to function as a gastroenterology RN. There are four major content areas included on the exam and all questions are directly related to the GI specialty. A score of 450 is required to pass.
