About the AHPAT

The Allied Health Professions Admission Test (AHPAT) helps measure general academic ability and scientific knowledge to identify qualified applicants applying for medical schools.

The exam consists of 300 multiple choice questions given in 3 hours and 30 minutes.
It is generally given in September, November, January and April.

Topics include:

  • Biology - (50 items) Tests basic principles and concepts of biology with the major emphasis on HUMAN biology.
  • Inorganic Chemistry - (30 items) Tests basic principles and concepts that are covered in basic college courses.
  • Organic Chemistry - (30 items) Tests basic principles and concepts that are covered in basic college courses.
